Rosland Capital Review - Stats and Trust Rating

Rosland Capital is still a relative newcomer to the industry. It was founded in 2008 as a precious metals and coins broker, but they also offer precious metals IRAs. It is endorsed by celebrities like William Devane and Jeffrey Nichols.

Business Consumer Alliance: A Rating, but with 18 complaints closed in the last 3 years (see report)
BBB: 3 complaints since March 2013 (see report)
Please note: The Business Consumer Alliance was founded in 1936 and formerly operated as the Better Business Bureau of the Southland (Southern California).  Due to some issues between this group and the BBB, the group broke off and became the Business Consumer Alliance.  It is rumored that there are issues with high company ratings (like A+, A or A-) from the BBB despite receiving a high number of complaints. So, especially for companies in Southern California, where a lot of gold companies are located, the BCA might be a better reference to use for complaints against companies that reside in this area .

However, based on the ratings and reviews it is not a company we recommend. A number of reviewers complained about false advertising claims, being overcharged and having to pay an extremely high commission. Apart from that, a lot of reviewers found Rosland’s stales staff very pushy and rude, as e.g. in this testimonial:

Was thinking of going with Rosland capital and Eric called me and I told him I was still looking into it and that I have not decided yet and he asked me if I suffered from split personality disorders because I was not willing to do everything right now and change over my IRA!! Obviously I will not be doing business with Rosland or dealing with Eric.

IRA Fees

Rosland Capital’s IRA fee schedule is not accessible through their website.  So we called them and the sales staff told us that it was $225/year flat. But due to the fact that many reviewers complained about Rosland’s customer service, we recommend that you ask for the full IRA fee schedule, especially when making a large investment where fees can be expensive if they are based on the amount invested.

Our Recommendation

Overall and especially in comparison with other Gold IRA companies we cannot recommend Rosland for managing your Gold IRA account. The reason for that are the high number of very negative reviews and, simply put, because there are better choices out there.
